Ms. Jean Huckabone
Special recognition this devoted volunteer, and Board Member who has managed a weekly bingo without absence for the past 5 years. As an individual she has raised in excess of $120,000 for our youth.
Mrs. Diana Townsend,
our founding President continues to provide, since our inception in 1986, an annual youth grant.
Mr. Max Keeping C.M.,
a member of our Advisory Board provides annual bursaries for disadvantaged youth to participate in our summer program activities.
The Ottawa West Rotary Club
provided funds to purchase a Can trailer on behalf of a local community center in Ottawa.
The Bytown Rotary Club
provided sponsorship funds for the build of a new Can Trailer to be used throughout the Ottawa Carleton area.
United Way of Ottawa Carleton
provided a community building grant to manage and deliver The Can program.
The Trillium Foundation
provided project funding to develop The Can program into rural communities.
The Department of Justice,
through the National Crime Prevention Center provided funding to assist with the research and program development involved in the expansion of the Can program into rural communities.
The Ministry of Citizenship Recreation and Culture
provided project funds to adapt and implement the urban Can programs to the needs of rural communities.
The local transportation and construction industries
provided extensive in-kind, volunteer and product support as listed on The Can's web page.
