Feliz Navidad y Prospero Año Nuevo

Hola todos. We are back on line. I checked on the net today and unless there is a mistake, it looks like those of you back in Ottawa are dealing with a chilly minus 30 some degrees. My condolences, but maybe my pictures of the pacific coast of Costa Rica will warm you up a bit. After a relaxing and rejuvenating Christmas break we are back to work in San Miguel de Sarapiquí finishing up our market analysis project.

As part of our job here in Sarapiqui, we have had the fun experience of exploring what tourist activities the tropical zone of Sarapiquí has to offer and are now summing up what we have found and writing our recommendations on where the cooperative and their plans to diversify and develop a tourist project of their own might fit in. I hope that one day some of you might be able to visit Sarapiquí. Maybe to try the river rafting, visit some of the wildlife reserves, or even pass by the cooperative for a tour of the mill, the organic project, and a cup of coffee!

Next on our agenda is to get started re-writing and translating the information on the Coocafe website and getting up to Monteverde to spend some more time helping with the coffee harvest. We are also going to make sure that we take advantage of as many of the invitations to the beach that we can. In fact, I think we will be taking off to the Caribbean coast this Friday night after work with a friend from Sarapiquí.

We will keep you posted. Our thoughts are with everyone in Ottawa as you valiantly endure the wintry weather.
