New Beginnings for Youth,
the Ottawa-based Canadian charity that
operates the Roasted Cherry Coffee House,
is going global!
Its latest project to support learning outside
the traditional classroom is a youth internship in
Costa Rica.
Meghan Casey from Vancouver and Meagan
Fitzpatrick from Ottawa are spending four months
in the Central American country to learn about the
coffee industry firsthand. For part of their time
there they are living and working alongside rural
coffee farmers during the peak of the harvesting
season.
In addition to their time on the farm, Meghan and
Meagan are also working with a co-op called
CooCafe, assisting them with various projects so
that rural farmers can make a better living.
Follow them as they tell their tales from the fields
of Costa Rica. Watch for them in the local media
